Obituary for David O. Reidel

David O.  Reidel
David O. Reidel, 77, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Monday October 16, 2017 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Erie on March 5, 1940 a son of the late Samuel and Lillian M. Dorman Reidel.

David was a 1958 graduate of McDowell High School and went on to attend trade school at Triangle Tech. He was stationed in Germany while serving in the United States Army. He worked for Modern Industries and various plastic companies before retiring from Plastek. He was a member of Community United Church and enjoyed visiting Lake Erie, the Erie Zoo, and helping plan McDowell High School class reunions.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Rose Reidel.

Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Patalano and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh; two sons, Jeffery Reidel of Cleveland and Gerald Reidel of Lancaster, PA; and two grandchildren, Anna Jean and Sylvan.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Friday at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
