Obituary for Bert E. Davis III
Bert E. Davis, III, 77, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 3, 2022 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Kittanning, PA on December 9, 1944 a son of the late Bert E. Davis, II and Janet Myers Davis.
Bert proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and worked as a painter at GE for many years until his retirement. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and coached Bay City Football. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Terry Bennett Davis; two daughters, Wendee Davis (Eric) and Dustie Wetzel (Larry), all of Erie; four sons, Bert Davis IV (Angela), Christopher Davis (Kimberly), Brett Davis (Staci), and Adam Davis (Hope), all of Erie; one sister, Judy Rieger of Kittanning, PA; 15 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many other extended family members.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
