Obituary for Virginia "Nina" Kisko (Staaf)

Virginia "Nina" Staaf Kisko, 71, of Erie, passed away on Saturday March 19, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Erie on May 6, 1950 a daughter of the late Everett Staaf and Patricia J. Brader Staaf Buetikofer.

Nina graduated from Villa Maria Academy and the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She proudly served as a Major in the United States Army Reserves and was a registered nurse in the MASH unit. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and ran JTEF bingo for many years. She enjoyed stamping and card making.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence M. Kisko; her sister, Constance Miniter; and her stepfather, Richard "Dick" Buetikofer.

Survivors include two daughters, Kirstin Magee and Stephanie Kisko, both of Erie; three grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew, and Adam Magee; two sisters, Kathy Pierce, of Harborcreek and Geri Olszewski and her husband, Mark, of Erie; her three cats, Farrah, Buddy, and Gem; 10 nieces and nephews, Everett, Jesse, and Emily Olszewski, Tina Calabrese, Jeffrey Pierce, Nikki Pierce, Beth Dylewski, Victor Pierce, and Jamie and Jeremy Miniter; and many great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
