Obituary for Richard J. Hart
Richard J. Hart, age 76, of Erie, passed away, Monday, March 4, 2019 at UPMC Hamot after a long illness. He was born in Erie on February 15, 1943 to Claire and Francis Hart.
Dick worked at GTE / Verizon for 42 years and was a proud member of the IBEW. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve, serving from 1964-1970. Dick absolutely loved the outdoors. He loved to "Bucket Fish" for perch and would hold down camp while the rest of the guys went deer hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald and his nephew Jeff.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia; his two sons, Scott and Darren (Rebecca); his sister, Kathleen Pomorski; his step-mother, Betty Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd, Erie 16504, on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of service there at 7 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
