Obituary for Shane Ian Murdock

Shane Ian  Murdock
Shane Ian Murdock, 47, of Millcreek, passed away following a short, yet courageous, battle with lymphoma. He was born in Erie on November 10, 1970 a son of Jess and Ann Rudolph Murdock.

Shane graduated from Ft. LeBoeuf High School and worked with IBEW Local 56 as an electrician and project supervisor. Most recently he was Vice President at Church and Murdock Electric, Inc.. He was active in youth hockey and was president of his bowling league. He enjoyed playing adult hockey, jet skiing, and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sema Keister and David Rudolph, and his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Helen Murdock.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Stephanie Irwin Murdock; two sons, Connor and Pierce Murdock, both of Erie; one sister, Erin Rutkowski and her husband, Ryne, of Waterford; his mother and father in law, Audrey and Alvin Irwin of Erie; two brothers in law, Craig Irwin and his wife, Lisa, of South Carolina and Alan Irwin and his wife, Kathy, of Erie; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
