Obituary for Yvonne Gulick (Kowal)

Yvonne Kowal Gulick, 59, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday December 28, 2017. She was born in Ambridge, PA on March 7, 1958 a daughter of Elizabeth Bayuse Kowal and the late John Kowal.

Yvonne graduated from Ambridge High School and went on to graduate from Edinboro State College where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Yvonne originally worked at various hospitals and nursing homes in Erie and most recently worked as a social worker with LECOM Health. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church and the Geriatric Social Workers Association (GSWA). She enjoyed baking and ice cream and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. She especially loved spending time with her family and granddaughters.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Kowal.

In addition to her mother survivors include her husband, Robert F. Gulick; two sons, Zachary Gulick and his wife, Jennifer, of Collingswood, NJ and Kiel Gulick and his wife, Maria, of Crafton, PA; two granddaughters, Willow Rae and Maisey Marie; two brothers, Roger Kowal and his wife, Sandra, of Ambridge, PA and Eric Kowal and his wife, Sandra, of New Castle; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a Funeral Liturgy at Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family and a celebration of life will take place in the spring.
