Regina Karpik Mellin, 89, of Greene Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 7, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born in Erie on August 25, 1928 a daughter of the late John J. Karpik, Sr. and Antoinette Giewont Karpik.

Regina was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry W. Mellin; two sons, Robert J. Mellin and Joseph A. Mellin; one sister, Theresa Letkiewicz; and two brothers, Martin Karpik and John J. Karpik, Jr.

Survivors include four sons, Jeffrey Mellin and his girlfriend, Mary Kay Guinn, of Greene Twp., Mark Mellin and his wife, Alyssa, of Waterford, Richard Mellin and his wife, Cheryl, of Edinboro, and Michael Mellin of Erie; one daughter, Michele White and her boyfriend, Timothy Bennett, of Meadville; one brother, Mark Lasky and his wife, Tessie, of California; sister-in-law Kathy Karpik of Erie, 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Tuesday morning at St. Boniface Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Mount of Olives Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Regional Hospice for their compassion and loving care given to Regina.
