Helen M.  Murdock
Helen M. Murdock, 89, of Erie, died on Tuesday September 19, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Lottie Bish Lapp and Clyde Bish and stepdaughter of the late Harvey Lapp.

Helen was married on November 22, 1947 to Alfred M. Murdock, who preceded her in death on December 7, 1992. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Ralph, and Howard and his wife, Gerry; her sister, Bonnie Harriger Johnson and her husbands, Joseph Harriger and Grover Johnson.

Helen attended East High School and graduated in the class of 1945. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Erie. She served as a member of the Community Services Society, was a deaconess, and was a greeter for the church services.

Helen enjoyed traveling and especially spending time at her Florida home for the winter. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and playing table games with her friends every Thursday night.

Helen is survived by her son, Jess and his wife, Ann; daughter, Deborah Drown and her husband, Curt; son, Gordon and his wife, Penny; son, Michael and his wife, Eileen; and daughter, Addy and her husband, Jeffrey; eight grandchildren, Shane Murdock (Stephanie), Erin Rutkowski (Ryne), Scott Murdock (Amy), Cody Murdock, Troy Murdock, Lacey Murdock, Kyle Murdock, and Shelby Jones; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday (today) from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Private interment will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Erie Seventh Day Adventist Church, 190 Hunter Willis Road, Erie, 16509 for Adventist Disaster Relief.
