Irene T. Walczak, 83, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at UPMC Hamot. She was born in Erie on January 31, 1934 a daughter of the late Konstanty and Eleanor Zielinski Walczak.

Irene originally worked at American Meter and went on to work at Esther's Beauty Shop for over 50 years. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bingo.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, Edward, Raymond, Joe, and John Walczak and four sisters, Esther Andrezeski, Ginger Pippitt, Eleanor Kubinski, and Mary Zielonka.

She is survived by her sister in law, Sue Walczak; her brother in law, Steve Zielonka; and her beloved nieces and nephews, especially Norrie Dunsmore and Cathy Merski, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews and their families.

Friends may call at Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 2:00 p.m.. Burial will be private in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
