Condolence From: Alan Jordano
Condolence: To all of the Petrone family....I am so sorry for your loss. You do not know me. I am one of those who met James as a volunteer for a number of County teams and entities. His thoughtfulness and professionalism always shined through and although I never did get to know him very well, I was impressed by the man and his dedication to helping others.

Condolence From: Mandy
Condolence: When I heard that "Grandpa" Jim had passed I instantly was saddened by the news. He was such a great and caring guy who always treated people with respect. He always seemed to have a passion in what he was doing no matter what it was. Growing up I always considered him a second grandpa to me. I also always looked forwarded to talking to him and Grandma Barb whenever I would see them at church or else where. To Grandma Barb and Family; You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Know now that you have a brave strong and caring man that loved his family and his job watching over you guys to keep you all safe. Just know if any of you need anything I will do my best to help. "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 - Mandy (Paul and Shirley Strohmeyer's Granddaughter)

Condolence: I was sad to hear the passing of Jim. When I was with Belle Valley, Jim was one of those persons who always treated everyone with respect. A true professional in every sense of the word, a huge asset to the FD and an overall real nice man. I have one memory that I laugh at every once in awhile. We were responding to a working fire on Ladder 30 around 1 am or so with Jim driving. I had the street in my mind and we came to the intersection of Gore & Old French. (As the Officer, I always make sure the driver and I are both on the same page as to the location.) I asked Jim, "Going straight, correct?" He looked at me and said, "What? Are you @#%*#?" I had the wrong street in my head. Jim turned right and we arrived on scene a few minutes later. I am sure that is only one of a million stories that can be told. And for that reason, Jim's spirit will always be around... Jim, thanks for everything....
