Obituary for Terry R. Thomas

Terry R.  Thomas
Terry R. Thomas, 68, of Millcreek, passed away Monday August 17, 2015 at the VA Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Erie on July 18, 1947 a son of the late Raymond and Hazel White Thomas.
Terry was a 1964 graduate of Academy High School and went on to proudly serve his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Management from Mercyhurst College and went on to work at GE for 27 years as a supervisor before retirement. He was a member of the Pulaski and CYS Clubs and enjoyed golfing, his cats and spending time at his pond.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents and his two brothers, Mark and Jim Thomas.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Kathy Scheloske Thomas; two daughters, Kym Thomas-Pitto and her husband Dave and Kelly Thomas-Eicher and her husband Neal, all of Erie; three sisters, Sally Comstock and her husband John of Rock Hill, SC, Diane Riccardi of Erie and Carol Thomas of Erie; six grandchildren, Sydney, Ben, Alexa and her fiancé Tyler, David, Neal Matthew, and Amber; two great grandchildren, Dylan and A.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the VA Medical Center chapel on Friday August 21st at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, 16504.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the VA Medical Center for the loving care given to Terry during his time there.
