Obituary for Charles Ray Tanner

Charles Ray  Tanner
Charles “Ray” Tanner age 88 of Millcreek and formerly of Wattsburg, passed away on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at Brevillier Village Nursing Facility. He was born in Union City, PA on December 7, 1926 a son of the late Charlie and Arlie Gross Tanner.
Ray retired in 1991 from G.E. as a quality control inspector after 42 years of service. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and formerly of Lowville United Methodist Church. Ray was a member of the NRA, enjoying hunting and the outdoors. He also enjoyed gardening, antiquing and attending auctions.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers, Floyd, Ralph, Harold and Gerald Tanner and two sisters, Rose Brumagin and Marie Brumagin.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marleah Longstreet Tanner; five daughters, Kathleen (Lee) Palloto of Harborcreek, Dee Dee Tanner of Millcreek, Debra Tanner of Millcreek, Brenda (Paul) Baltzer of Albion, Lisa (Rick) Feely of Millcreek; nine grandchildren, Steven (Sandra) Henry, Patrick Henry, Kevin Henry, Adrienne David, Ryan David, Paul (Melanie) Baltzer, John Baltzer, Curtis (Emily) Ventresca and Justin Ventresca; six great-grandchildren, Gavin, Tallin, Macy, Garrett and Sara Henry and Bradley Ventresca; one sister, Elsie Miller of Corry, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, 16504, on Sunday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. Additional calling hours will be held on Monday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Beaverdam Lawn Cemetery.
