Condolence From: MAYME & PAUL GIGL
Condolence: I am John Donatucci's daughter,Mayme,72 yrs of age. My Dad passed on July 14, 2005,age 87, Uncle Benny Donatucci, age 91 died in July 2007, Walt Strasser, Deacon and Daddy knew each other because of sports. Later on in Daddy's life, when he was sick at various times, the "gang" would come to the house to visit him. I didn't live in Erie at the time, but, would visit. I would be in the kitchen removed from them, but, so remember the laughter from some or all of them depending on who visited. I contacted Deacon a few times while he was at Fairview and previously visited Betty and him. They were both so pleasant, loved talking about Daddy, Uncle Benny, and of course, their famiy. Deacon told me Betty passed a couple years ago. Sad for him he said but he toughed it out and eventually moved into Fairview Manor. I used to teach at Fairview Elementary from 1964 'til 1968, when I married Paul and we moved to State College, PA, so Paul could finish his degree at PENN STATE. Loved it there!!! We have moved a couple more times, now located in Highlands Ranch, CO. Love it here. We express OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY AT THE LOSS OF THIS MARVELOUS FRIEND, DOUGLAS "DEACON" JONES.SO HAPPY TO HAVE KNOWN HIM. SINCERELY, PAUL AND MAYME DONATUCCI GIGL.

Condolence From: James Karnes and Family
Condolence: Please accept our deepest condolences. Deacon was a great neighbor and we miss seeing him and Betty working their garden on 29th street. It was a pleasure knowing them both and I wish we had been able to spend more time with them.
